2019 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1, Round 2 – Nairne v Uraidla

The Dream Maker headed to Nairne to witness the Rams’ first home game since rejoining Division 1, where they played host to Uraidla. Whilst the Nairne-Bremer A-Grade side has been a solid performer in Div 2 over the last few years, the step up to Div 1 brings with it football of a higher intensity.

This was made very clear to the Rams, as the Demons took control of the game early and didn’t let go, despite the Rams’ putting in a solid effort and refusing to give up.

2018 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1 Grand Final – Hahndorf v Uraidla

The last day on the 2018 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League calendar was a cracker. The sun was shining, and a huge crowd descended upon Lobethal Oval to see a full day of local footy at its best.

From the Mini Colts right up to the B Grade, Uraidla swept the finals. However, the tide turned when the A-Graders hit the ground. From the get go, the Magpies showed why they were the team to beat during the 2018 Div 1 A Grade season. Whilst Uraidla did their best to try and contain a rampant Hahndorf, Pine Avenue’s finest were unstoppable. The Pies got home by a comfortable 47 points (13.15 vs 6.10), but the Demons certainly did not disgrace themselves. Have a listen for yourself.

Congratulations to both teams for a great 2018, as well as Hahndorf’s Dylan Madsen for taking out the Best On Ground medal.
