‘Twas a sunny yet blustery day in Rocking Horse Country with a sizeable crowd turning out to see the traditional local derby between Gum and Kersy. With the Brookers being the only A Grade team in Div 2 (or Div 1) to have an undefeated run in 2018, it was always going to be a big ask for Gum to overpower their rivals from the other side of the hill. As you can see in the pic supplied by Kersbrook Football Club, their team is in stonking form on the downhill run towards the Finals.
The Call Of The Wild team was also delighted to secure the services of Shane ‘Collo’ Collins for special comments. After a stellar debut on the HFL commentary team at Mount Barker in Div 1 Round 11, we got a lot of requests to give Collo another crack at calling a game … and we’re glad we did. Hear Collo, and the rest of the team, for yourself right here.
Extra special thanks to the Gumeracha Football Club for their hospitality, and a special shout out to Ian Carpenter for keeping the whole HFL Media team fed and watered all afternoon, along with president Tony Hannaford and the rest of the Gums’ team for making us feel extra welcome. The Colonel is especially grateful, as he was able to put his feet up in the kitchen for a change.
