2019 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1, Round 5 – Uraidla v Blackwood

The Dream Maker headed back to the Cabbage Patch for this Round 5 clash, where Uraidla played host to Blackwood. The conditions may have been a bit wild and woolly, but this didn’t stop both sides from fighting for the win until the final siren.

2019 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1, Round 4 – Mount Barker v Mount Lofty

The Lofty Devils made their 2019 debut on the HFL Call Of The Wild in their clash with the Barker Roos at Hanson Oval (a.k.a. Howard Lane). An entertaining game ensued, with the visitors taking it right up to Mount Barker throughout much of the game. In the end, the home side was just too good, but Mount Lofty can hold their heads up high knowing that they played some quality footy throughout.

2019 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1, Round 3 – Lobethal v Nairne

The sun shone on the Valley of Praise as Lobethal hosted newly minted Div 1 entrants Nairne-Bremer. After years of success in Div 2, the Rams are still finding their way in the heady world of HFL’s Division 1. A valiant effort, but the Tigers were just too good on home soil.

This week’s broadcast also brought with it a new sponsor: Chris Shaw Accounting. Chris joins an illustrious list of media sponsors this year, including Mortgage Choice Adelaide Hills, Jarrett Motors, Adelaide Star Bus and Ned’s Whisky & Cola.  Watch and/or listen below.

2019 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1, Round 3 – Hahndorf v Mount Barker

One of the great traditions of the Hills Football League is the ANZAC Day twilight clash between Hahndorf and Mount Barker. This year, the Magpies played host to the Roos at Pine Avenue, where a big crowd was treated to a strongly contested match between two of Div 1’s dominant sides … but only one side emerged with victory.

The Call Of Wild also welcomed a new commentator, Michael Bawden. Bawds will be joining us again this year for selected matches.

2019 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1, Round 2 – Nairne v Uraidla

The Dream Maker headed to Nairne to witness the Rams’ first home game since rejoining Division 1, where they played host to Uraidla. Whilst the Nairne-Bremer A-Grade side has been a solid performer in Div 2 over the last few years, the step up to Div 1 brings with it football of a higher intensity.

This was made very clear to the Rams, as the Demons took control of the game early and didn’t let go, despite the Rams’ putting in a solid effort and refusing to give up.

2019 Mortgage Choice Hills Football League Division 1, Round 1 – Uraidla v Mount Barker

The first round of Division 1 was blessed with almost perfect footy weather. The Dream Maker’s first stop this season: Uraidla Oval.

Whilst the ladies of Uraidla enjoyed their own day in the sun, the HFL Media team called the season opener between two of last year’s Premiership contenders, Uraidla v Mount Barker.

Fans were treated to three quarters of closely contested footy, but one team managed to make a break for it in the fourth to take home the chocolates…
