For the first time ever, the HFL’s night of nights was live streamed via hillsfooty.com and Lofty. Around 260 guests including players, club officials, sponsors and other VIPs were on hand to witness the Mail Medal count for 2018.
The race for the Division 2 A Grade medal was one of the closest in years. It wasn’t until the final round when Gumeracha’s Brendon Moon couldn’t quite get the votes needed to tie up first place, settling for equal second with Kersbrook’s Rob Nicholson on 21 votes a piece. In the end, the Raiders’ Adam Houlahan won the gong with 22 votes after 18 rounds and a very happy Mum listening to the stream at home. Congrats, Adam! Thanks to the Bridgewater-Callington Raiders for the pic.
Please note that there is a bit of an issue with the sound quality near the business end of the count … seems like the excitement in the Old Mill was a little too much for The Colonel to contain, and the audio got a little overcooked around the 29 minute mark. He’s scraped off the burnt bits and we reckon the end result is pretty OK.
